Cerec Cosmetic DentistryCEREC ® is an acronym for Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics. Translated, it means that a dentist can economically restore damaged teeth in a single appointment using a high-quality ceramic material that matches the natural color of other teeth. The CEREC ® process utilizes 3D imaging to ensure a proper fit. Read more about CEREC cosmetic dentistry here.

Invisalign Cosmetic Dentistryinvisalign ® is the invisible way to straighten teeth without braces. Invisalign uses a series of clear removable aligners to straighten your teeth without metal wires or brackets. Invisalign is proven effective in clinical research and in orthodontic and dental practices worldwide. Read more about invisalign cosmetic dentistry here.

Porcelain and Ceramic Crowns

If your tooth is damaged beyond what a filling can repair, a crown (also called a cap) can be used to cover the damage and rebuild that part of your tooth. A crown protects your tooth from further damage.

Veneers

Veneers are very thin acrylic or ceramic shells that are bonded to the outside of the teeth. Veneers, whether made out of composite or ceramic material, can cover badly-stained teeth, chipped teeth, uneven teeth and large fillings. The advantage to doing a veneer instead of crown is that the tooth is minimally “prepped”. Most insurance companies classify these as non-covered cosmetic procedures.

Dentures & Partial Dentures

There are two types of removable dentures to replace missing teeth: full and partial dentures. Both types are made in a dental lab, based on a mold (impression) of your mouth.

Dental Implants

Dental implants are used to replace single teeth, multiple single teeth or to support full or partial dentures. Implants are not for everyone. You must be in good general health, have healthy gums and enough bone in your jaw to support the implant(s). You must be willing to see Dr. Beer and the specialist several times until the work is done, and take very good care of your implants(s). In addition, implants normally cost more than other kinds of replacement teeth.

Restorations

Both crowns and bridges are fixed prosthetic devices. Unlike removable devices such as dentures, partials which you can take out and clean daily, crowns and bridges are cemented onto existing teeth or implants, and can only be removed by a dentist.

White Colored Fillings

White colored fillings (composite resin fillings) are a quick and relatively inexpensive way to repair your teeth. This material is placed into or on your teeth and hardened (cured) with a light. The bonding process uses a resin adhesive to bond the composite to the enamel of your tooth. This material is approved for both front and back teeth and helps eliminate the leakage that so often has happened with the old “silver (amalgam)” fillings.

Tooth Whitening

Tooth whitening is just one of our cosmetic desires. It is the most sought after cosmetic dental procedure. There are many forms of tooth whitening available but not always effective: Tooth whitening gel reduces the amount of stain produced by drinking coffee, tea, soda, and smoking. With tooth whitening gel you can lighten your teeth safely and up to several shades. With regular maintenance you can maintain the bright smile you have always wanted.

LumiBrite Teeth Whitening

LUMIBRITE Bleach-Free Whitening brings patients into our office with fast, safe and professional whitening that is completely bleach-free – eliminating sensitivity – and produces predictable results that your patients will love.

Family Dentistry

Plaque is caused by bacteria in your mouth. We all have bacteria, some is beneficial and some is not. Bacteria attach to the tooth structures and consume the foods that we eat. These bacteria will produce a soft acid waste product known as plaque. Plaque has a milky white color and looks similar to cottage cheese. Plaque destroys the gum attachment, and the result is periodontal pockets. As the bacteria continues to multiply more and more plaque is produced which causes the gums to become inflamed.

Diet & Health

How is your diet? Do you eat a balanced diet? Are you getting the right amount of the four food groups to keep your body healthy? Do you drink lots of water? A balanced, nutritious diet is good for your general health as well as your dental health. Without the right nutrients, you will not have a strong immune system and your teeth and gums can become more susceptible to decay and gum disease. It is even possible that eventually you’ll lose bone that holds your teeth in place and the tooth will need to be removed.

Dental Care During Pregnancy

If you are thinking of having a baby or if you are currently pregnant, it is important for you to be in excellent health, physically, mentally and emotionally. It is important that special attention be paid to your dental health and oral hygiene. If proper oral health care regime is not practiced it could have a negative impact on the mother to be and the unborn child.

Emergency Dental Treatment

Many people do not see a dentist on a regular basis. They go only when they feel they have a problem. We call this “Emergency treatment” as opposed to preventive treatment. While these patients may feel they are saving money, it usually ends up costing much more, such as, time, money, and loss of work. The reason for this is that most emergency dental problems do not have any symptoms until they reach the advanced stages, or they have had symptoms that come and go.

Orthodontic Dentistry

In order to determine the severity of the problem and what is needed to correct it, the Dr. Beer will completely evaluate your mouth.

Diabetics & Periodontal Disease

An estimated 17 million people in the United States have diabetes. Diabetics are more susceptible to infection and periodontal disease and the infections tend to be more severe than non-diabetic patients.

Sleep Apnea Treatment

Sleep apnea is a disorder characterized by a reduction or pause of breathing (airflow) during sleep. It is common among adults but rare among children. Although a diagnosis of sleep apnea often will be suspected on the basis of a person’s medical history, there are several tests that can be used to confirm the diagnosis. The treatment of sleep apnea may be either surgical or nonsurgical.

Periodontal (Gum) Disease

Periodontal Disease or more commonly known as Gum Disease is a chronic inflammation and infection of the gums and surrounding tissue. It is the major cause of about 70% of adult tooth loss. Periodontal disease has been linked to diabetes, kidney and liver disease, heart disease and other autoimmune disorders.

Cold Sores / Fever Blisters / Lesions

Cold Sores and Fever Blisters are caused by the herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV-1), a virus that passes from person to person by direct contact with infected skin or secretions including saliva. The sores usually appear as clusters of tiny blisters on the lip. HSV-1 can cause similar, but smaller, blisters that rapidly become ulcers inside the mouth on the gums and palate (roof of the mouth).
